Houston airport information

General information about Houston airport

Houston is served by three airports. The primary city airport is George Bush Intercontinental Airport. It ranks second in the United States area-wise, trailing only Dallas Fort Worth International Airport. The airport has five terminals. Terminals A, B and C handle domestic flights and Canada operations. And Terminals D and E handle international flights. Houston Intercontinental is the headquarters of Continental Airlines and a hub for these airlines. In 2009 the airport was named one of the fastest-growing airports in the country. And a year earlier it was ranked eighth in terms of passenger traffic. At that time the airport served over 43 million people. An above ground train called TerminaLink connects the airport terminals. To get to and from the airport one can use scheduled buses or taxi. There are also courtesy vans operated by various hotels and motels in and around the Houston area.
