Oslo sightseeing and things to do in city
One of the most iconic sights of the Vikings' capital is considered to be Akershus fortress. Behind the high walls hides a magnificent castle built by an order of king Haakon V at the end of the XIII century. Here the famous chapel is also located – it was used as a tomb for many members of the Norwegian Royal family, and a couple of towers, among which the spires of Blatarnet and Romerikstarnet are especially impressing. Not far from Akershus there is a local city hall that once a year on the 10th of December becomes a place where the Nobel Prize distribution is held. In one of the rooms inside the city hall hangs the most optimistic painting of the Norwegian painter Edvard Munch 'Life' attracting tourists' attention in other days of the year. We invite you to visit these and another sight of the "City of Fjords" – Vigeland Park of sculptures. You can buy tickets at reasonable prices on flights from Boston using our special offers.
