The gateway of Hong Kong is the International Airport known as Chek Lap Kok (the Sky City). It is the attraction in and of itself, though it wasn't easy to create this masterpiece. Chek Lap Kok was built on an artificial island. The work lasted 24 hours a day for 3 years. Nowadays, Hong Kong International Airport is one of the largest in the world. And it is considered to be the most passenger-friendly. The airport premises are huge and splendid, its terminal consists of two parts housing numerous shops, cosy cafes and refined restaurants offering a variety of cuisines. The terminal also features a shopping mall Sky Plaza, a unique sports facility I-Sports and 4D Extreme Screen Theatre with the largest projection screen in Asia. In Aviation Discovery Centre you can try your hand at flying on a 4D simulator. Once you exhaust all the entertainments inside the airport, you can visit the city. It won't be hard to do since there is a highway connecting the airport and the city and there is a high-speed train shuttling to and from.
