San Francisco is served by three airports, the first and the largest being San Francisco International Airport (or SFO), located 20 km south of downtown. It is a hub for United Airlines, Virgin America and Alaska Airlines. The airport has 4 terminals and houses the Aviation Library and Louis A. Turpen Aviation Museum, numerous cafes and snack bars, recreation rooms, a medical station and public showers. One can get from the airport to the city by rail (subway or commuter train line), by bus or by taxi. The second airport is San Jose International Airport located in San Jose 70 km southeast of San Francisco. One of the three runways stretches in the close proximity to the historical centre of the town, so it seems that aircraft fly right overhead when landing and taking off. The third airport serving San Francisco is Oakland International Airport. It is a hub for Southwest Airlines and Allegiant Air and has 2 terminals, one of which handles international flights.
