Washington airports are all named after distinguished political leaders. Americans are known to immortalize their heroes in architectural structures. Two airports handle international traffic – Washington Dulles International Airport named after the US Secretary of State John Foster Dulles, and Baltimore-Washington International Airport named after Thurgood Marshall, the first African American to serve on the Supreme Court of the United States. Dulles Airport is the major Washington airport by passenger traffic. And Baltimore-Washington Airport has its own railway station connected to the main railway line. One more airport is Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport named after the 40th president of the USA. It is located in close proximity to central administrative buildings of Washington and has its own subway station. However, it handles only domestic flights since there are no international customs facilities there.
